DCAR stands for Diagnostics-Led Clinical Assessment and Roadmap. It is Kmath's math assessment: you answer a short parent intake, then your child answers 21 questions. It finds the skills your child is missing, where each gap started and the later skills it has been blocking, plus every strength.

First you do your own parent intake: questions about your child, homework, what you have tried and your family's week. Then your child answers 21 questions. There is no timer. Progress is saved, so your child can stop and come back while the link is valid (7 days from when it was sent).

No. Nothing is scored on screen. Your child answers and moves on. The results go to your report, not to your child.

Yes, you can be in the room. Please do not help with the answers: the assessment needs your child's own answers to find the real gap.

That is normal. Tell your child there is no grade and nothing right or wrong is shown. Many children find it easier than they expected once they start.

The questions adapt to your child's answers, so each child takes a different path. 21 questions are enough to find the gap with confidence.

The assessment is $69, once. An access code from your school community, employer or organization, entered at sign-up, can make it free.

A first report in 5 to 15 minutes. It is preliminary and shows early results. The full report within 24 hours. Both stay in your portal and can be downloaded as PDF.

The full report comes in two versions with the same findings. The parent report uses plain words. The teacher version uses professional language for teachers, counselors and IEP teams. You can print it, email it or bring it to a school meeting.

No. They explain the findings in plain words. The questions themselves are never shown to parents.

Yes, if you continue with the plan. The assessment runs again every 4 weeks and the reports update to show what closed, what is still open and what comes next. Your portal keeps the full history.

Yes: English, Spanish, French, Haitian Creole or Brazilian Portuguese, written for each language rather than translated word for word.

A $69 assessment, paid once, then $100 - $260 per student, per month if you start the plan. The rate depends on your household size and income, whatever the grade. The $69 is not credited to the first month.

No. The report is yours either way. Starting the plan is a separate choice.

No registration fee and no contract. The plan is billed monthly and you can cancel any time.

No. It is included in the plan. The usual check-ins still happen that week.

Some schools, employers and community organizations give families an access code. Enter it at sign-up. A partner code can make the $69 assessment free.

Your portal has a financial relief option you can turn on yourself, with no form and no phone call. It keeps your child's data and plan in place, and can be used up to twice a year.

Each child has their own $69 assessment and their own plan at $100 - $260 per student, per month, because each child's gaps and workbook are different.

Each week a new workbook and worksheet arrive in your email and portal. You print them and your child works on paper, with a pencil. The screen is only for short check-ins.

Thursday to Saturday: a head start on next week's class topic. Sunday: rest. Monday and Tuesday: go deeper. Wednesday: close gaps or take on a challenge. Check-ins are on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

What your child is working on this week, what to say, what to ask, and the answer key to check the work. You do not need to know the math.

No. You can print the pages, or use the Notebook set: your child copies the short questions into a notebook and gets the same questions and the same progress. The check-ins work on any phone, tablet or computer.

The plan does not reset. The next workbook picks up where the plan says. After 30 days or more away, a new assessment confirms the plan is still right.

Yes. There is no summer break in the plan. If you travel, print the pages before you leave.

Yes. There is no center to go to. Print the week's pages wherever you are, and check-ins work on any phone, tablet or computer. A parent who is away, including a deployed parent, can follow check-ins from the portal.

Pages carry a code that opens an alternate explanation of the same skill, with different words or a different example. Your child can also ask for help with a concept through the portal, a few times a week, so it stays a learning tool and not a shortcut. The help is in English, like the lessons.

A short set of questions on the week's material, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, on any phone, tablet or computer. A missed check-in can be made up before the next one. After each one you get a short report in your language.

Yes. You can watch check-ins live from your portal, from anywhere, and invited family members can follow along too.

Check-ins are short and track this week's skills. Every 4th week the full 21-question assessment is added to the check-ins and updates your full reports and the plan. It runs from Monday to Wednesday of that week. You pick Monday or Wednesday. It does not replace the check-ins.

Your portal shows the gaps at the start and how many have closed, updated after each recalibration. Every report is kept, so you can compare where your child started with where they are now.

That means the system is working. Closed skills leave the plan, and sometimes a recalibration finds a gap that was hidden behind another one. The plan adjusts.

It depends on the gap. A gap from one grade back can close in weeks; one that built up over years takes longer. Kmath does not promise a date: the plan keeps adjusting to what your child shows.

No. The parent guide gives you the words and the answer key checks the work. Your part is to keep the week going.

The weekly guide is short, and the lessons are built for your child to work on independently. You join in when you can.

That is common at first, especially after bad experiences with math. The parent guide covers it. The head start helps most: getting an answer right in class changes a child's attitude quickly.

Yes. Invite a co-parent, a grandparent or another adult from your portal. Each gets their own sign-in and you choose what they see, per child. Billing stays with the main account.

Yes. You can add your child's teacher to the portal to see the plan, reports and progress, or simply share the teacher version of the report.

Yes. More languages are planned. You can enroll and choose English or another available language.

Yes, any time from your portal. Billing stops at the end of the month you paid for, and that month is not refunded. You keep access until then.

Yes. A pause lasts 30 days: billing stops and your child's plan and data are saved. You can pause up to two times in any 12 months from your portal. On day 30 it ends by itself and billing starts again, and we email you 7 days before.

Within 30 days, you pick up where you left off at no extra cost. After 30 days, a new $69 assessment is needed: your child has missed check-ins and at least one recalibration, so the old data is no longer accurate. To avoid that, pause instead of cancelling.

No. Kmath is a family math program. It never replaces school services or an IEP. It finds the specific math gaps and gives your family a plan, which can support goals already in your child's IEP.

Yes. The teacher version uses the professional language IEP teams use, and shows the gaps, where they started and the progress since.

Not yet. The IEP program is planned for the future and is not available right now. It is being designed with adaptations for ADHD, autism spectrum, dyslexia, processing delay and general learning disability: audio delivery built to UDL standards, adjusted pacing and IEP-format reports. The assessment is available today, and its data carries over.
